Enjoying a day in Jackson

June 8, 2007 · 10 Comments

I hope everyone has a terrific weekend. With Tieki Rae home for such a short time, we’ve decided to hit the highway again today and head to Jackson. Fortunately, it’s not too far. Unfortunately, we’re leaving at 5 am. Our intention is to take lots of pictures, but how good can someone look when getting up at 4 am on Saturday morning? You might be limited to wild life shots here at Sunflower Desert :)

Jackson Lake LodgeThis is where we intend to eat breakfast. Then, we will probably need to do a little hiking to walk off some of that delicious food.

‘Grey’s’ Washington ‘Mad as Hell’ About Being Dropped

June 8, 2007 · 16 Comments

This is too funny. Hat tip to La Shawn — truly the best writer I’ve ever read. By funny, I guess I mean ironic. Though, it does make me chuckle to think of when all that blogosphere self righteousness was going around over Ann Coulter using the term faggot.

Star’s Contract Not Being Renewed

June 8, 2007 —

Isaiah Washington will not be scrubbing in for surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital next season and he is not a happy camper.

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore,” Washington said in a statement released through his publicist, Howard Bragman.

ABC announced it will not be renewing the contract of the troubled actor.

The move was confirmed by two sources with knowledge of the situation, one of whom said, “It was a difficult year and this should come as no surprise to anyone.”

Officials at ABC Television Studio, which produces “Grey’s Anatomy,” declined comment.

Even as Washington’s star rose with the hit show he starred in, he faced allegations that he used an anti-gay slur to refer to “Grey’s” co-star T.R. Knight.

He initially denied reports he used the slur, and raised eyebrows with a public statement at the Golden Globe awards.

“No, I did not call him a f–t,” Washington said in front of reporters.

Knight appeared on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” saying that he was shocked by Washington’s denial.

On “Access Hollywood,” another “Grey’s Anatomy” co-star, Katherine Heigl, said: “He [Washington] just needs to stop talking.”

Earlier this year, Washington admitted using the slur, apologized and said he planned to meet with gay rights groups.

He then said he would check into a treatment center for psychological evaluation.

“I have begun counseling,” Washington said. “I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again.”

I’m not sure what to say. I hate political correctness. I think this demonstrates how you can jump through hoops in attempt to say your sorry for saying something taboo, and it doesn’t matter. I wonder if the left ever gets tired of Ann always being right. I simply love it.
